Australian architectural and urban critic, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Melbourne (bio web-verified via Wikipedia and the University of Melbourne/InfUr- pages). Born in Western Australia; architecture degrees from Curtin University and the University of Melbourne; PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. His early work on the phenomenology of place expanded into critiques of buildings and cities as mediators of power — the programme of Framing Places (1999; 2nd ed. 2008), Fluid City (2005) and Becoming Places (2010), which develops "a theory of place as a dynamic assemblage."
