Jonathon Anderson is Professor of Interior Design at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) School of Interior Design and Founding Director of its Design + Technology Lab, which integrates digital fabrication, robotics, and transdisciplinary design education; MFA, Savannah College of Art + Design; his research spans digital design and fabrication, digital visualization, "making as a form of critical thinking," emerging technology, and creative robotics. He previously taught in the United States (UNCG-era grants; collaborations with Perkins+Will researchers Tang and Aksamija on performative computation) and co-edited Digital Fabrication in Interior Design: Body, Object, Enclosure (with Lois Weinthal, Routledge, 2021), Innovations in Landscape Architecture (with Diane Ortega, Routledge, 2016) and three volumes of the International Journal of Interior Architecture (ii journal, with M. Jackson, University of Houston Publishing, 2013–2014 — Vol. I "Autonomous Identities," 2013).
Laura Lovell-Anderson is an interior designer and educator, Course Leader of BA (Hons) User Experience Design at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London (2024); formerly Sessional Instructor in Industrial Design at OCAD University, Toronto, with a one-year research residency at Autodesk (2019) on robotic fabrication of structural profiles; also published as Laura Schoenthaler. The two co-practice at Lovell Anderson Studio and collaborate on creative-robotics material research ("Vaisseau," "noumenon (optical semblance)," exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario, LUMAS, Toronto Outdoor Art Fair). Together they authored Ch. 18 of Marinic's The Interior Architecture Theory Reader — the Reader's computational chapter.
