Clare Olsen is an American architect and educator, Professor of Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (at Cal Poly since 2011), holding a BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University and a Master of Architecture with distinction from UCLA, with prior teaching at Tulane, Cornell, and Syracuse. Her areas of expertise — architectural ceramics, interdisciplinary collaboration, shell structures, and foundation design — converge on the theme of her Reader chapter: design advanced through the artful interrogation of limits.
