Space-shape is the name Jane Callaghan and Catherine Palmer — industrial engineers working in the 1940s — gave to the three-dimensional outcomes of their method for documenting the human body in action: rather than "limiting themselves to x, y, and z planes for the model, they interpolated the body's movement from one view to another to fill in the diagonals.
